On 18 Ashadh 2083 (2 July 2026), a special program was held at the Ward Office of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality–4, Khaireni, Bardiya District, where land ownership registration certificates (Lalpurja) were distributed to 29 landless Dalit and landless squatter households from the Mankinar settlement of Ward No. 4.

The program was chaired by the Chief District Officer of Bardiya, Mr. Gogan Bahadur Hamal, and attended by the Chairperson of the National Land Problem Resolution Commission, Mr. Balbhadra Bastola, as the Chief Guest, with Commission Member Mr. Padmanidhi Soti as the Special Guest. The event was also attended by the office bearers of the District Land Problem Resolution Committee, Bardiya, the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality, the Chief Administrative Officer, Ward Chairperson, Executive Members, representatives of local political parties, and other distinguished guests.

The distribution of land ownership certificates was carried out as part of the Government of Nepal's land policy and program aimed at resolving the long-standing issues of landless Dalits, landless squatters, and unmanaged settlers. Through this initiative, beneficiary families are expected to obtain legal ownership of their land, enabling them to access various government services and facilities more easily while strengthening their social and economic security.

While handing over the land ownership certificates to the beneficiary families, Chief District Officer Mr. Hamal stated that granting legal ownership of land to landless and squatter citizens is a significant achievement of the Government of Nepal. He expressed confidence that this initiative would enhance the social and economic security of the beneficiaries and contribute to improving their overall quality of life.
